Big Dan's Big News July 31, 2008

My first big fundraiser Day II !!! Jason Vo needs a mouth operation. He works, but has no health insurance. O'Malley and Miller from Clarks-Summit, Pa. are donating the operation for free (thanks!) but Jason needs $400 for anesthesia. Jason is 27 years old and has needed this operation for about 9 years. He is now missing work and getting fevers due to absesses in his mouth. This stems from 5 impacted wisdom teeth which should have been taken care of years ago. They have since wrecked the surrounding teeth and he has infections and absesses in his mouth. He could die if it's not taken care of. I gave Jason a blank check and signed it, telling him that if there were no donations, I would pay the entire $400 minus any donations. The operation is this Friday Aug. 1 @ 11:45am. Finally! After all these years!

Donations can be made by calling O'Malley & Miller @ (570) 586-5300. Ask for Dale. They take credit cards. Tell them you'd like to donate towards the $400 for the anesthesia for Jason Vo (pictured on the right, you can tell he's not related to me, how can you tell that???). You can verify this when you call, mention Jason Vo who has an operation this Friday at 11:45am.

Come on! You aren't going to make Big Dan pay for the whole thing, are ya? I don't have a lot of money! Give $10 if you can! I'll pay for it all if I have to, though! I'm on the hook for $400 minus any donations. Jason has the blank check from me, signed, and will fill it out for $400 minus any donations. And I'm not backing out! End of story!

Wake up, Republican voters! I'm not bashing YOU, I'm bashing your PARTY that has been taken over by FASCISTS! Wake up, Republican voters! They don't represent YOU! YOU'RE not like this! Have you had enough? Have they tricked you long enough? They say they're "for the troops", and they aren't! McCain voted against almost every bill to aid veterans! Just like his Republican counterparts! There's no excuse for this! Then they'll get their fascist 1/2 billionaire media guy Rush Limbaugh to spin it! A bill backed by the Paralyzed Veterans of America was blocked by the REPUBLICANS! What's going on here???

2005 White House hiring directive: ‘Place as many of our Bush loyalists as possible.’

In order to support Bush’s message, Secretary of Energy Samuel Bodman went on Fox News today to push the claim that offshore drilling is safe for the environment. But in the midst of his interview, Bodman repeated the right-wing lie that no oil spilled in 2005 during Hurricanes Katrina and Rita:

GOP cyber-security expert suggests Diebold tampered with 2002 election

Republican Cybersecurity Expert Confirms 2002 Election Fraud in Georgia

2004 article: The Diebold paperless touch-screen voting system was first deployed on a statewide basis in Georgia for the 2002 election. The outcome in Georgia was a “stunning” and “historical” upset in which Republican candidates won both the governor’s mansion and a seat in the U.S. Senate. The Republican challengers in Georgia had been trailing the Democratic incumbents in both races by 5 to 11 point margins the week before the race.

Although most Georgians expected incumbent Sen. Max Cleland to win, the Diebold voting system declared the dark horse Republican candidate Saxby Chambliss the winner. Chambliss won 53 percent of the vote, according to the Diebold-generated tally. A similar upset occurred in the gubernatorial race in which a Republican candidate won for the first time in 130 years. The upset in Georgia was of national significance. As Chambliss says on his web site: “With our win on Nov. 5, we returned control of the U.S. Senate to Republicans and gave President Bush the tools he needs to implement his agenda for America.”

President Bush's drug warriors must really, really want to protect their ability to throw non-violent marijuana users in jail.

The White House sent at least three party crashers to a press conference Wednesday with Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA), who has introduced a pot-decriminalization bill.
