More on Sarah Palin's "Baby-Gate", see yesterday's post for more:

Why does it matter?

1. Sarah Palin is pro- life. Great to see she sticks to her guns. Too bad she had to lie about her own daughter being pregnant because of the fact that:
2. Sarah Palin is an avid proponent to abstinence only education.
3. Maybe this needs repeating. Sarah Palin is an avid proponent to abstinence only education.
4. One more time! Sarah Palin is an avid proponent to abstinence only education.

Talking Points Memo: Water Breakgate - Judgment - The Real Issue

As you all know there are rumors swirling around the web and blogosphere concerning the parentage of Sarah Palin's young son Trig. These are unsubstantiated and hopefully for the sake of the family not true. This story did NOT orignate this week, It was bubbling around AK since April.

THIS IS NOT THE REAL ISSUE. Unfortunately examining the situation here will be required to get to Gov. Palin's judgement and behavior concerning this. What I have learned in the last 24 hours concerning the medical actions taken after Gov. Palin returned and at least something about her doctor is also disturbing and raises more questions and adds some real support to the rumors.

The real issue simply put is the poor judgment that Sarah Palin exhibiited in traveling while 36 weeks pregnant, carrying a special needs baby after her water broke. Does this sound like someone qualifed to be "a heartbeat away" from the Presidency? (click link below for more...)

"Water Breakgate" - 8/31/2008 - New and Disturbing Information

Sarah Palin on Pregnancy and Working: Sarah Palin is one tough lady it appears in terms of how she views things. "To any critics who say a woman can't think and work and carry a baby at the same time, I'd just like to escort that Neanderthal back to the cave." I personally doubt this type of "pioneer": attitude really is how she would treat the decision to fly as she did. The Dallas Trip - Full newspaper Article here...

Real Time's Bill Maher on Sarah Palin:

Massive police raids on suspected protestors in Minneapolis

ST. PAUL, Minn. — On the weekend before the Republican National Convention, law enforcement agencies detained dozens of people and issued a series of search warrants aimed at groups believed to be organizing demonstrations while delegates and Republican officials are in town.

I-Witness video

Police raids enrage activists, alarm others

Moles Wanted: In preparation for the Republican National Convention, the FBI is soliciting informants to keep tabs on local protest groups

Real Time with Bill Maher had their season-opening episode, and here is an excellent piece by Real Time/Rolling Stone's Matt Taibbi, about how politicians at both conventions are given lavish, exclusive parties by corporations with 100% access to the politicians and YOU get a "freedom cage" out in a parking lot where they can't see you! This should outrage ALL AMERICANS!!!

NEW ORLEANS — Hurricane Gustav steamed toward the Louisiana coast early Monday on track to hit west of New Orleans as the few remaining in the city watched nervously and hoped levees only partly reinforced in the three years since Katrina would hold.
