Merry Fitzmas! Patrick Fitzgerald Is No Hero

For years, Republican-appointed U.S Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald, who served as special counsel for the Scooter Libby trial of outing CIA agent Valerie Plame, has avoided bringing any charges against Karl Rove stemming from that case. For some reason beyond me, Fitzgerald has gained the reputation, even in the leftblogosphere, of being fair and above politics. Fitzgerald worked with lightning speed to have Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich-D taken into federal custody. The timing of it, one day after Blagojevich publicly stated that he was suspending dealings with Bank of America (and BOA took OUR bailout money for just this purpose!) for cutting off loans to Republic Windows & Doors causing them to layoff workers, is reminiscent of the timing of charges being brought against Democrat Eliot Spitzer right after he wrote an article in the Washington Post about the Bush administration being involved in the upcoming, but not yet in full fruition, financial crisis. That shut up Eliot Spitzer...how convenient was that timing!!!

This post is not about the guilt or innocence of Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, it's about the people behind the scenes controlling this country keeping the dirt on politicians (who are probably guilty) in their back pocket until it's convenient for them to bring it out, which is the far greater corruption...it's called "blackmail". They help crooked politicians advance and win elections because they can blackmail them if they don't do as they please. I could have arrested Blajo! He's small potato's, low hanging fruit that took a week to setup, Fitzgerald should be going after the Bush administration!

The grandstanding Fitzgerald said Blagojevich's "...misdeeds 'would make Lincoln roll over in his grave". Then Lincoln would be rightsideup again, because he already rolled over when Fitzgerald rolled over in bringing charges against Karl Rove.
