Big Dan's Big News Oct 17, 2008

Special commentary by Big Dan: "Oh, funny thing. 'Joe the Plumber' isn't a plumber...and his name isn't 'Joe'....and he owes back taxes...and he's a GOP 'plant' like the black guy who asked McCain a question at a McCain rally..."

I have some questions about McCain's "health care" plan! Please ask anyone voting for McCain or McCain or Palin these questions! No one's asking them!

● How do you get the $5,000 ???
● Does the $5,000 go to you or your provider?
● What if you switch providers, does the provider send the $5,000 to the one you're switching to or a pro-rated amount or does he send it to you to send to them? Or what???
● The average individual non-group policy is $12,000 if your employer doesn't kick in. What about the other $7,000 ?
● How do you pay the other $7,000 ?
● Employees get a huge discount getting health insurance through their employer because they're in a "group", will your premium skyrocket because you're getting it individually? I say "YES", definitely!
● Your employer has your plan all ready for you, you just payroll deduct your premium. Do YOU have to go out searching all these health plans? It's a nightmare, I've done it! That's not good!
● Will premiums go up just by the mere fact that insurance corporations know you're on your own, and your employer isn't doing the negotiating on your behalf???
● What if you STAY with your employer's health plan. How do you pay the tax on it? McCain wants to tax your health coverage your employer is kicking in, that was never in history taxed before!
● What if your employer stops offering health insurance through them because of McCain's plan to tax it?
● Right now I have automatic payroll deduction for health care. Do I have to send a check in myself each month? How much?
● Are people more at risk for cancellations or late fees because they have to mail in their premium themselves instead of payroll deduction?
● If I lose my job, how does COBRA fit into McCain's health plan?
● Isn't this "deregulating" health care? Like the way the deregulation caused the financial crisis?
● If you "do nothing" and you have health insurance through your employer, does your employer get the $5,000 or does the insurance company get the $5,000, and will you suddenly find your pay go down because it's now being taxed as income?

I have more questions, but all I know so far, is a vague "you'll get $5,000". Anyone know anything else? I haven't heard anything! Are you "OK" with this? I'm not! This sounds like a crock of shit to me!!!

New McCain ad: "Barack Obama Wants To Steal Your Grandmother"

Joe the Plumber

This is cool! Democracy NOW! "simulated" Nader & McKinney at the debates last night, by showing the question, Obama & McCain's answer, and then Nader and McKinney answer LIVE! As if they were allowed in the debate! It's fun to watch! The corporations parties, the Republicans & Democrats, write up secret contracts on what questions can be asked and as always not allowing anyone in the "presidential debates" (or dual-press-conferences) except for their two parties. Proving the parties are beholden to corporations and not to the people of the United States. Watch:

Anti-war protests and especially veterans protesting the war are off-limits, they're blacklisted from the corporate controlled media.

As John McCain and Barack Obama prepared to face off in their third and final debate last night, outside the gates of Hofstra University, members of Iraq Veterans Against the War, backed by hundreds of demonstrators, protested at the campus gates.

At least fifteen people were arrested, including at least five members of IVAW, on charges of disorderly conduct. Nassau County Police on horseback trampled one member of IVAW, Nick Morgan, a veteran who served in Iraq for about a year. His condition is unknown.

Here's the Republican election year "dirty tricks" that the GOP does every election, and then swindles you and the media into thinking there's "voter fraud" every election. In my opinion, anyone who votes for a party that engages in mass disenfranchizement of poor and minority voters every single election, doesn't deserve their own voting rights. The GOP's "War On Democracy":

ACORN: The Only Fraud That Occurred Was Against ACORN Itself. Gramps insists democracy is in peril. But even a Republican prosecutor found no case....just laziness...

Joe The Plumber Obama took nearly 6 minutes with him in a crowd in Toledo to explain his tax plan. 6 minutes of actually talking one on one in a hectic crowd with a concerned American voter (and possible GOP plant....the guy raced right over to Fox after his 6 minutes of fame was over).

Is Joe The Plumber is RELATED to Charles Keating?

Here's Your Fine, Joe: Zero. McCain repeats the lie that Obama's health care plan fines small business that can't provide health care; Fact: Small businesses are exempt.

Cherry Picking The Wall Street Journal. McCain claims Obama wants a single-payer healthcare system.

BUT go a little deeper and you'll find the whole quote:

"....If I were designing a system from scratch, I would probably go ahead with a single-payer system. ... [M]y attitude is let’s build up the system we got, let’s make it more efficient, we may be over time — as we make the system more efficient and everybody’s covered — decide that there are other ways for us to provide care more effectively......"

100% Negative. Obama claimed McCain's negative campaigning was total. He was RIGHT.

Supporters of Sarah Palin attending a rally in St. Clairsville, OH on Sunday were not shy about displaying their racist attitudes and their ignorance about Barack Obama -- along with their very real fears and insecurities -- to al-Jazeera reporter Casey Kauffman.

One white-haired old lady said frankly to Kauffman, "I'm afraid if he wins, the blacks will take over." She then added more shrilly, "He's not a Christian! This is a Christian nation! What is our country going to end up like?"

Another woman stated, "Obama and his wife, I'm concerned that they could be anti-white, that he might hide that." A third suggested, "I don't like the fact that he thinks us white people are trash -- because we're not."
