Specter Calls For Investigation Into Destroyed Tapes

"I am very concerned about the underlying facts on the taping, the reasons for the judgment on the limited penalties and, most of all, on the inexplicable destruction of the tapes," Sen. Arlen Specter, R-Pa., wrote Thursday in a letter. Specter met with reporters at a press conference:

Reporter #1: Senator Specter, are the millions of missing emails from all those articles about Rove's missing emails, the same emails that the White House is now expecting us to believe were written over in recycling their backup tapes? Everyone finds it hard to believe, that in this day and age, those emails aren't somewhere!

Senator Specter: Emails? The destruction of the tapes containing evidence of the scandal have nothing to do with email! I'm not sure what you're talking about!

Reporter #2: Senator Specter, your press release must be referring to the missing torture tapes the CIA were previously ordered not to destroy. Even in that case, I don't think the American public believes those torture tapes were really destroyed, or at least there weren't copies made of them!

Senator Specter: Destroyed White House email tapes and destroyed CIA torture tapes? What is everyone talking about? I'm talking about the NFL explaining why it destroyed tapes of evidence from the New England Patriots cheating scandal!

Giant Upset!

14-point underdog New York Giants upset the undefeated New England Patriots...much like the the upstart 18-point underdog New England Patriots upset the St. Louis Rams in 2001.

Super Bowl XLII: New York Giants 17, New England Patriots 14.

We spent the weekend in New York City/Times Square/Marriot Marquis for a Fresh Air Fund convention. On the way home, we stopped at the inlaws' (outlaws') home and watched most of the Super Bowl there, and left to go home to Pa. with the Patriots up 7-3. On crappy AM radio reception all the way home, we heard what may have been the greatest Super Bowl ever! The Giants took the lead 10-7. Then, with minutes left, Tom Brady and the Patriots scored what looked like the final go-ahead touchdown, the way they usually do it. But, Eli Manning led the Giants to a last-minute Super Bowl winning touchdown, right as we pulled into our driveway! It was one of the greatest Super Bowls ever, as a Giant upset knocked off an undefeated 18-0 team, going for perfection!

Pope Questions Packers Loss To Giants

Pope Benedict XVI has reason to be down in the dumps today. His beloved Packers blew a sure win against the New York Giants, and a trip to Super Bowl XLII.

Pope Benedict XVI: "I thought even giving up the 7 points on the spread, it was a safe bet. The temperature was -20 chill factor, perfect Packer weather. I don't understand how the Giants won. I think the game was fixed. I think the media wanted to see Peyton Manning's little brother in the Super Bowl. The Giants kept missing field goals at the end of the game to win it, having touchdowns called back by the referees, etc...yet they somehow won. That was suspicious, wasn't it? The way the Packers somehow lost with all that help from the refs? And that last interception by Favre? Tell me that didn't look like he was throwing the game! That was ridiculous! And that Giants field goal kicker misses 2 chip-shot field goals to win the game, then in overtime he hits almost a 50-yarder! That's impossible! I think there was trick-photography or trick-cameras there, or something.

And is it just me? Or does Eli Manning look drunk or retarded all the time? What is the deal with that?

I got my money back on the 40 1/2 over/under, though. I bet the over, and I think it was 43 total points, right? No one expected over 40 1/2 points in minus 20 chill factor at Lambeau...NO ONE EXCEPT THE GODDAMN' POPE! THAT IS!!! I always fare better with the over/under, than the actual win/lose point spread.

What really upsets me, is that from a personal standpoint, I've been a huge Packer fan since the Bart Starr/frozen tundra days. I wore my oversized Pope cheesehead hat and everything! I guess I'll be throwing that down the crapper, thanks, Bret! Thanks a lot! Who wants to watch the Giants in the Super Bowl? And the Patriots? Not me! That's for sure!"

Tell them the two teams in the Super Bowl are the New England Patriots and the New York Giants! They'll say, "What the...????? I thought you didn't know a damn thing about sports!!!!!!!!!!"

Jesus Helps Cowboys Beat Packers 37-27

Terrell Owens thanked Jesus after the Cowboys beat the Packers 37-27, in a meeting of two 11-1 NFC teams.

In the post-game interview, Owens stated, "I'd like to thank Jesus for this victory." Owens came over to the Cowboys after his agent Jesus Christ (of Nazareth) negotiated a 3-year/$25 million dollar contract with Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.

Halfway through the 2nd quarter, Green Bay Packers quarterback Bret Favre had to leave the game after being viciously sacked and hurting his right hand and arm. "We would've won the game...if it wasn't for Jesus hurting my arm. It's not enough that Jesus is Terrell Owen's agent, but he shouldn't interfere with the games...you know, being a God and all that. First he helps Kurt Schilling win the World Series for the Red Sox, and now he's helping Terrell Owens for the Cowboys. I go to church, too! You know! I put my money in the collection plate, too! Just like them!"
