I had 2 trees fall in my yard when we had that big snow, one against my house. I had to argue and fight with my home insurance company. First they denied it (of course). Then I had to do the usual: threats, etc... And they paid me for removing the trees. I may get into it, exactly what I said, but I've written many times on this blog my history of fighting companies.
ReplyDeleteBut this reminded me of a funny episode, well the company didn't think it was funny. My wife did one of those things where you can try something for 90 days money back guaranteed. She sent it back within the 90 days, but they didn't return her money. She came up to me one day and told me about it, because it was going on for a long time.
Here's what I did (I think I wrote about this before): I found out the name of the company, they were in Connecticut, I think New Haven. I found out there number, got connected with someone who looked up my wife's case, told them I was on the way driving up there (I mentioned their address) with a baseball bat. (true story). The woman said, "Are you threatening me???" I said: "NO, I just said I'm on my way up Route 84 to your address with a baseball bat."
THE VERY NEXT DAY, my wife's money was in our mailbox (a check).
This home insurance thing reminded me of this, because it was Saturday when I was going through this with my home insurance company, and TODAY in my mailbox, was the check. After first being denied.
And how about these commercials to buy something that seems like it should be over $100, and they say, "ONLY $10, and if you order NOW, we'll send you TWO for $10!!!"

NOTICE THE WORD "ASK". I'm going to call one of these numbers on these commercials and "ASK" about their "free shipping".
The commercials don't say: "FREE SHIPPING". They ALL say: "ASK...about our free shipping". I bet you ANYTHING, that you do NOT get what they say, for the price they say, and "FREE SHIPPING". NO WAY!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteOnly a terrorist would question the MISSING 25% in a poll sponsored by Gannet - the same company whose employees happened to be standing by at the Pentagon on 9/11 to fulfill certain propaganda duties including photographing the alleged piece of AA jet on the lawn.
Assuming this is shot after the buildings where hit, but before the first tower WAS DETONATED, this could be legit. If he saw a jet hit the tower and a fireball (explosion), and had no other knowledge of explosions elsewhere (because he was in the hotel or in the elevator on the way to the street) - and only saw a plane strike, this could be legit. They are looking up at buildings and there is no atmospheric dust as there would be post BUILDING DETONATION - so these two opinions could co-exist. The other alternative is that it was shot in the past year with paid actors looking up at an empty spot in the sky, but I doubt it.

My first impression was that it was staged and shot a year ago - but then it occurred to me that it had to have been shot on the morning of before the towers WERE BLOWN TO SMITHERINES. Benefit of the doubt was that he could have construed the term "secondary explosion" to mean the jet fuel igniting after initial impact. It is certainly suspect.

From what I've been reading, McQueary SAW Sandusky raping an 11 year old boy in the showers at Penn St, DIDN'T STOP IT, reported it to Joe Paterno, Paterno reported it to two other people, and nothing happened (in 2002).

Wells Fargo did the same thing with the overdraft fees - took out the highest purchases firest so they could bounce multiple small ones.
ReplyDeleteThen on top of that they would delsy taking out the over draft fee until the next afternoon so if in the morning you saw you had a negative balance and transfered just enough to cover it they would over draft you on the overdraft fee that afternoon.
We also caught them deducting checks and ATM withdrawals before they deposited our direct deposit paychechecks. One time they rang up over $300 in overdraft fees that way. I went in and raised hell and they credited me the $300 while swearing they always did the deposits first even thogh I had the printouts to show them otherwise.

That's a good one! I never thought of that! You're right: we could logon in the morning before 9am and fix it ourselves by transferring enough money to cover it, but I'm sure behind the scenes they make sure you can't see an update of your entire account at 8:59am, so you can do that.
I'm always fighting with them about these "fees". I usually win. But the whole thing is, I'm sick of doing it. And they probably know x% will not fight, so they don't care if the 5% like me waste a lot of time, raise a stink, and get the fee reversed. Because they know 95% of people just can't and won't fight like that. So it's worth it to them.

Wachovia reversed the $150 and said they would get the money off AOL. THEN...Wachovia put the negative $150 back in my account and didn't tell me, so I bounced 5 small checks $150 (5x30). So I had a negative $300 balance now!
ReplyDeleteI called Wachovia and told them they had to tell me about putting the negative $150 back, because they caused another negative $150 in fines. Also, I said to them that I thought they said they reversed the $150 and they would get it off AOL.
THEY ALWAYS DO THIS: they DENIED ever saying that! How many times have you run into that? And it does NO GOOD arguing with them. They LIE! And sometimes you can't win arguing with them. I left my Wachovia account at negative $300 until this day. That is when I switched to (ironically) Bank of America.
But they ALL screw you with these charges. They're like the MOB! You have to do things like I did: leave the bank with a negative balance. What else can you do?
Sometimes you have to think creatively like that. Also, you have to not be worried about your credit rating. That's another scam: credit ratings. I can't get into that right now, but that's a huge thing I've been into and written about. They always threaten you with your credit rating. "WE'LL PUT IT ON YOUR CREDIT RATING!" I always say: "BIG DEAL!" And they're shocked! Why are they shocked? Am I the only one who says "BIG DEAL!" to them, when they threaten to put something on my credit rating?

Because I am a liberal, and Ron Paul is more liberal than any other candidate. He's against the wars, against the FED, FOR leaving citizens alone. Tell me, Curt, which Dem has gotten us all health care? Obama wouldn't seat someone from single payer on the table of the health care task force he created AND took the public option off the bill. Obama is participating in "austerity", which is cutting things for the public.

You could advocate for a reformed and improved system of state-provision. Instead you support someone who has as his goal its complete abolition. Indeed, RP seeks the complete abolition of income tax. Gee, that's mighty progressive, ain't it? RP wants those without the means to provide for themselves to rely on the charity of doctors. Shameful. Dickensian. And you support it.
And Ron Paul's halving of corporation tax. And repatriation of profits tax-free. And spending cuts of $1T a year over the life of his first Presidency. If Bush had advocated those things you'd have been rightly apoplectic.
