I'm considering becoming a TeaBagger after seeing this guy...he shows us the calm, thoughtful demeanor of the TeaBaggers! ...and he makes some great points, like when he says we should shut down the VA and when he wants to impale the cameraman with the American flag and throw him in the river! I love this guy!!!

Texas Governor Perry shoots coyote with a laser gun with hollow pointed bullets.

On this particular morning, Perry said, he was jogging without his security detail shortly after sunrise.

"I'm enjoying the run when something catches my eye and it's this coyote. I know he knows I'm there. He never looks at me, he is laser-locked on that dog," Perry said.

"I holler and the coyote stopped. I holler again. By this time I had taken my weapon out and charged it. It is now staring dead at me. Either me or the dog are in imminent danger. I did the appropriate thing and sent it to where coyotes go," he said.

Perry said the laser-pointer helped make a quick, clean kill.

"It was not in a lot of pain," he said. "It pretty much went down at that particular juncture."

Texas state law allows people to shoot coyotes that are threatening livestock or domestic animals. The dog was unharmed, Perry said.

Perry's security detail was not required to file a report about the governor discharging a weapon, said Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Tela Mange.

"People shoot coyotes all the time, snakes all the time," Mange said. "We don't write reports."

The governor left the coyote where it fell.

    "He became mulch," Perry said.

  3. Went to see The Eagles last night.

Great show - lots of new stuff plus their old hits and various Henley and Walsh hits as well.

For backup people they had three keyboardists, a lead guitar player, a second drummer - Henley was also on drums about half the time, and a four piece horn section.

Royal Dutch Shell profits up 50% on oil price
    Shell petrol pumps
Higher prices at the pump have help boost Shell's profits

Oil giant Royal Dutch Shell has seen its quarterly profits jump by nearly 50% thanks to higher oil prices.

The Anglo-Dutch company said profits for the first three months of the year were $4.9bn (£3.2bn) - up 49% on the same period last year.

Shell said higher energy prices and growth in its business had helped boost profits from "low levels" seen at the end of last year.

Profits for the last three months of 2009 were $1.2bn.

Those poor results prompted Shell to announce plans to cut 2,000 jobs before the end of 2010, helping to cut a planned $1bn in costs.

Shell's chief executive Peter Voser said the turnaround in results for the first quarter of the year were "driven largely by our own actions", citing growth in production and exploration of new oil fields.

But oil price rises on the international markets have also played their part.

  7. Hey BB2...That is great that you saw the Eagles...but you forgot to mention Timmy!!!!.... The best singer in that band in my opinion! They are so fortunate to have such a fine harmony vocalist...the best in the business. I saw Poco with him and without him....although I've always loved Poco, Tim was a gem with Poco and was sorely missed after his departure to The Eagles!!!!

  9. Yes indeed - Tim was great. He is from here in Sacramento and his Grandmother was at the show. He dedicated one of the songs he sang to her. Joked about how the applause and standing ovation before the encore made grandma proud.

Of the four main characters he was without a doubt the most reserved, shy or nervous even.

Officials in California have launched a voter fraud investigation after dozens of people in Orange County said they had been tricked into registering as Republicans by campaigners who said they were petitioning for marijuana decriminalization and other causes.

An investigative report published in the Orange County Register found that "the con occurred at the end of January and the beginning of February at places like Cypress College and Golden West College, and outside of discount stores like Wal-Mart and Food 4 Less."

  27. Several years ago I saw a video of an accordion player who was incredible. In the video he was seated on a stage with his accordion and a whole array of effect pedals. It started off as just an "acoustic" accordion, but as the piece progressed he started kicking in the effects. By the end it was totally crazy - like a whole orchestra or something.

I've been trying since to find it again without any luck. As I recall he was from the Netherlands or somewhere around there.
