A Massey worker, who did not give his name because he is afraid of losing his job, said that his coworkers were outraged that they were not given time off to mourn their friends and brothers.

Do you STILL believe the corporate owned media is "liberal"? Look at THIS:
Not once, in all five days of coverage, did a single reporter mention the organization that has worked hardest over the decades to make sure that mining management does not cut safety corners and that miners can monitor their own working conditions with impunity. The union went unmentioned, as did the fact that the Upper Big Branch workforce went unorganized:
In Discussion of Mine Disaster Coverage, Only Imaginary Unions Allowed
Multi-Millionaire Rush Limbaugh is the voice of the BIG BOSSES against the miners; trashes UNIONS in NON-UNION mine:
This article below says "UNINFORMED" Rush Limbaugh...sorry, Think Progress...IT'S ON PURPOSE!!! He's PAID to misinform middleclass Americans via AM radio on behalf of the wealthy!!!
Uninformed Limbaugh Wonders ‘Where Was The Union’ At Non-Union Mine Disaster
PROOF BEYOND A DOUBT: "Tea Party" was a GOP concoction, not a "spontaneous, grassroots, non-partisan uprising".
So, please, let's stop this BULLSHIT that it's "non-partisan". IT'S REPUBLICAN!!! Like I've been saying here at BDBB since the BEGINNING!!! AND...this also provides more proof of something else I've been saying: the corporate owned media that wants you to think they're liberal was in on it the whole time! All the mainstream media did, was to SHOVE THE TEA PARTY DOWN OUR THROATS! All the while, ignoring LARGER anti-war protests, immigration protests, gay rights protests, and all other LARGER protests that aren't pro-corporation, pro-military, or pro-wealthy! And it also shows FOX "news" for what it really is: A GOP OPERATION...not NEWS!
The REAL News: Can the U.S. dollar remain the world's currency???

ReplyDeleteYOU'RE FIRED, if you go to the Massey miners' funerals
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in college I would go to the docks in Milwaukee during Christmas break to work. You signed up on a list and then went every morning and noon to the union hall where the would post the job calls for the day. As long as you showed up at each of those sessions you would move up on the list. A no-show bumped you to the back of the list. Typically within a day or two you would make it into the job call. The work was hard - loading and unloading freighters, but the pay was fairly good and overtime was always available.
The worst were the refrigerated boats. 15 degrees below zero inside, often the hatches were frozen shut so you had to use this six story tall ladder to get in and out if the ship was empty.
It was in one of those freezer ships - one of the Onassis fleet - where one of my co-works had an apparent heart attack while climbing the ladder. We noticed he was having a problem when he was about 50 feet up the ladder. We yelled at him to get on the deck he was at, but before he could manage it he fell 50 feet to his death.
In honor of him the ship was blackballed and no one would go on it for several days.
This was accepted policy and no one lost their jobs over it.
I too was going to comment on those wonderful pants!

4 Pairs Of Pants
http://bigdanblogger.blogspot.com/2008/01/4-pairs-of-pants.html
I have the whole "pants" thing knocked! Going forward, I will only own 4 pair of pants: 2 tan, and 2 gray. Period! That's it! For the rest of my life, I will only purchase a pair of pants to replace the 4 pair I own.
Where I work, Friday's are "dress down day", so you can wear blue jeans. Blue jeans aren't pants, btw... So, I only need 4 pair of pants for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I'll wash my 2 tan and 2 gray pair of pants on the weekends.
I'm not buying any other colors except tan and gray. They match everything. I'll stagger them so people think I have lots of pants. For example, one week I'll wear tan-gray-tan-gray. The next week I'll switch it to gray-tan-gray-tan...you get the picture.
They have to have flex waistbands, too. They're comfortable, I like them. It's like you're not even wearing pants.
I came to the realization that blue and black pants suck. They're too dark. Green pants are out of the picture! As well as all other colors.
So, that's it! I have the "pants" thing knocked! The picture you see above is/will be my entire pants wardrobe for the rest of my life! I'll replace those 4 pair of pants "as needed", like if they start to disintegrate.
Now, for shirts and shoes.......hmmmmmm.......
Hey! I'm just trying to simplify my life! I started with pants!
See? I always had this "clothing challenge"!
ReplyDeleteHoly YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BB2 reminded me of this: my best friend at work, 32 at the time and just married, died suddenly. That's a story in itself. BUT...I worked very closely with this guy and we became very good friends and in fact we would go out as couples with our wives a lot and visit each others' houses. Well, when he died, it was like pulling teeth to go to his funeral, and then I got back later than "the boss" said I should, and I was called into the office and reprimanded. Now, this is a manager in the company who knew and worked with this fellow, too. We all knew each other. He also knew how close I was to the guy who died. And this manager was aware that I worked the most unpaid overtime of any employee in our group. And still called me in his office and reprimanded me because I got back around an hour later than he said I should. I stayed later because I was such good friend with him, knew his wife and their families, and was one of the last to leave. The last thing I expected was to be called into the office when I got back and reprimanded. In fact, I thought the manager called me in to ask: "Are you all right, Dan? Can you finish up the day or would you like to leave early?" Yeah, right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Silly me! Huh???

ReplyDeleteRALEIGH, N.C. – The former president of Blackwater Worldwide and four other former officials at the embattled security firm were indicted Friday on federal weapons charges, partially the result of a raid two years ago by agents that rounded up 22 weapons, including AK-47s.
The indictment issued Friday charges Gary Jackson, who left the company last year in a management shakeup, along with four other former workers. The charges against Jackson include a conspiracy to violate firearms laws, false statements and possession of an unregistered firearm.
Also indicted were former general counsel Andrew Howell, former executive vice president Bill Mathews, Ana Bundy, who at one point had oversight of the firm's armory, and Ronald Slezak, who was hired to oversee documents related to the company's status as a firearms dealer.
The charges open a new front of the government's oversight of the sullied security company. Several of the company's contractors have previously been charged with federal crimes for their actions in war zones, but the company's executives have so far weathered a range of investigations.

Here we go, atta baby, Big Ed! This is what I've been saying:
ReplyDeleteEd Schultz: Conservatives Control 90% Of Media
"We have to be very cognizant of the fact that 90 percent of the electronic media in this country is owned, operated, programmed and controlled by conservatives," he said. "They made a concerted effort during and before the Reagan years that they were going to get the microphone. Whether you're in favor of or against or understand the fairness doctrine, it's neither here nor there...the fact is we have conservatives on the air electioneering."

10 Facts All Americans Must Know Now
ReplyDelete10 Facts All Americans Must Know Now
by William Dean A. Garner | Friday, February 12, 2010
1. The United States individual (personal) income taxes go directly to the Bank of England, City of London, which is wholly owned and controlled by the family Rothschild.
2. The United States Federal Reserve Bank is NOT a U.S. government institution.
3. The Federal Reserve is a PRIVATE bank, which is wholly owned and controlled by the family Rothschild.
4. The Federal Reserve was established in 1913 illegally, when the Rothschild’s lieutenant, U.S. Senator Nelson Aldrich, forced through a Congressional bill that mandated it.
5. The family Rothschild is directly responsible for starting all major, and many minor, wars over the past 230 years.
6. The family Rothschild is directly responsible for every recession and depression in the United States over the past 210 years.
7. The family Rothschild (The First Sphere of Influence) controls all major banking throughout the entire world, and has the power to bankrupt entire countries.
8. Thomas Jefferson fought vehemently against Alexander Hamilton to ensure that the newly created United States would NOT fall under the control of the Rothschilds. Jefferson said that the Rothschilds were a greater threat to our country than any standing army.
9. Andrew Jackson also fought to thwart all the efforts of the Rothschilds, and was able to do so during his term. When his term was up, the Rothschilds installed their own U.S. president and then, in a retaliatory measure, plunged America into its first depression.
10. The Rothschilds have assassinated four U.S. presidents, who refused to toe the Rothschild line, and are thought to have murdered others, although the evidence for the latter is as yet inconclusive.
11. The Internal Revenue Service is a private corporation, licensed by the Fed as a collection agency.
12. BONUS FACT #1: the Rothschilds are wholly responsible for the deaths and murders and assassinations of tens of millions of human beings worldwide.
13. BONUS FACT #2: The Rothschild henchmen are Zbigniew Brzezinski and his sons. Forget Kissinger; he’s an idiot.
