Big Dan's Big News April 15, 2010

Cops LIE about beating peaceful student basketball fan celebrating his team's victory. Initially last month, the police falsely charged the beaten student with attacking the police...until this cell phone video of the whole thing showed up. If the video of what actually happened hadn't surfaced, the victim faced serious FALSE charges by the police. The police dropped the FALSE charges against the student...after this video surfaced! How nice! Meaning they wouldn't have dropped the charges if the video didn't show up! As usual, YOU the taxpayer will pay for this:

Big Dan's FAMOUS TASER video montage, growing daily as the TASER death toll count increases well into the hundreds, and that's only what's documented. This is one of those things, as usual, no one cares about until it affects THEM or someone they know...typical of the way most Americans have begun to think anymore:

OK, this is off the charts. What's really going on here? U.S. government jails the WHISTLEBLOWER of a 20 billion dollar tax fraud. Again: they threw they guy in jail who TOLD about it!!! Unbelievable! Let me repeat this again: THEY THREW THE GUY IN JAIL WHO EXPOSED A $20 BILLION DOLLAR TAX FRAUD BY UBS!!! Again: THE HERO WAS THROWN IN JAIL! What's going on in the United States? Is this PROOF that banksters run the United States government or what??? This is like the U.S. government saying: "DO NOT TELL ON BILLION DOLLAR TAX FRAUDSTERS OR YOU WILL GO TO JAIL". The guy is in jail who EXPOSED THE BIGGEST TAX FRAUD IN U.S. HISTORY. But of course, you don't know about it, if you watch the corporate owned mainstream media for your news. They're talking about the TeaBagger stooges. You have to watch this:

A former banker for the Swiss giant UBS who blew the whistle on the biggest tax evasion scheme in US history is asking President Obama today for clemency to coincide with Tax Day, the day US income tax returns are due for most people. In January, Bradley Birkenfeld began serving a forty-month sentence despite playing a key role in uncovering the bank scandal. He first came forward to US authorities in 2007 and began providing inside information on how UBS was helping thousands of Americans evade taxes by hiding billions of dollars in secret Swiss accounts.

Jailed UBS Whistleblower Bradley Birkenfeld Makes Tax Day Clemency Request to President Obama

Binghamton mayor wants you to know how much taxes we're spending on the war...more than a TRILLION dollars:

As we continue our Tax Day coverage, we speak to Binghamton, New York Mayor Matt Ryan. He’s taken an unusual step to remind the city’s residents about the expanding costs of the wars. Early next week, the city of Binghamton plans to install a large digital “cost of war” counter on the facade of City Hall. The counter will show that the residents of the city have already spent $138 million on the wars since 2001.

Holy Shit!!! This 12 year old girl makes more sense than any politician!!! She charges for asking Senator Harkin what the REAL reason is that we're in these wars, not the FAKE ones:

The Tea Party has been billed as an organic grassroots operation, but a newly uncovered document obtained by Politico suggests the movement has been successfully co-opted as a Republican fundraising ploy.

Just days after the first widespread tea party demonstrators hit the streets a year ago Thursday, Joe Wierzbicki, a Republican political consultant with the Sacramento firm Russo Marsh + Rogers, made a proposal to his colleagues that he said could “give a boost to our PAC and position us as a growing force/leading force as the 2010 elections come into focus.”

The proposal, obtained by POLITICO, was for a nationwide tea party bus tour, to be called the Tea Party Express, which over the past seven months has become among the most identifiable brands of the tea party movement. Buses emblazoned with the Tea Party Express logo have brought speakers and entertainers to rallies in dozens of small towns and big cities, including one in Boston on Wednesday that will feature former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

Aided by campaign-style advance work and event planning, slick ads cut by Russo Marsh, impressive crowds and a savvy media operation, the political action committee run by Wierzbicki, Russo Marsh founder Sal Russo and a handful of other Republican operatives has also emerged as among the prolific fundraising vehicles under the tea party banner.

Wyoming Area Golf Team wins 105 in a row!

1979 – 31 Years Ago Wyoming Area history

Charlie McDermott, outstanding back on the Wyoming Area High School football team was set to receive the Charlie Trippi Award as most valuable player of the 1978 season at the annual Hughestown Sports Club banquet.

The Sports Club Banquet was scheduled to be held in March of 1979, and Charlie Trippi would be in town to make the presentation. McDermott excelled in football, basketball and baseball earning an MVP award.

Dan Spak, a junior member of the Wyoming Area Golf Team, was chosen unanimously as golf all scholastic for the 78-79 season. Spak placed fifth at the annual District II PIAA Individual Championships, which qualified him to compete in the annual state meet in Hershey.

(BD: I shot 76-77-37 for 45 holes at Wilkes-Barre Municipal Golf Course at age 16 in the District 2 Pa. state high school golf qualifications, which was good enough to advance to states in Hershey)

  2. There Are 76 Traitors In The Senate
Politico: 76 Senators sign on to Israel letter

More than three quarters of the U.S. Senate, including 38 Democrats, have signed on to a letter to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton implicitly rebuking the Obama Administration for its confrontational stance toward Israel.

The letter, backed by the pro-Israel group AIPAC, now has the signatures of 76 Senators and says in part:

We recognize that our government and the Government of Israel will not always agree on particular issues in the peace process. But such differences are best resolved amicably and in a manner that befits longstanding strategic allies. We must never forget the depth and breadth of our alliance and always do our utmost to reinforce a relationship that has benefited both nations for more than six decades.

A similar letter garnered 333 signatures in the House, and its support marks almost unified Republican support for Benjamin Netanyahu's government, along with strong, but more divided, public Democratic discomfort with Obama's policies in the region.

Signatories include key Democrats like Armed Services Chairman Carl Levin, Chuck Schumer, and Robert Menendez as well as all but four Republicans, with signers including Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, John McCain, and Scott Brown.

  5. Massey Energy told employees that if they miss work to attend the funerals they would be fired, workers said. A Massey worker, who did not give his name because he is afraid of losing his job, said that his coworkers were outraged that they were not given time off to mourn their friends and brothers.

The WSWS spoke to workers and relatives outside a local market. Chuck Smith, an unemployed miner with seven years work underground, said Massey’s decision to force miners to work during the funerals was a calculated move. “What would it look like if a bunch of people wearing Massey uniforms showed up to the funeral yelling ‘damn Massey?’”

Smith said another factor was Massey’s profits. “Is a lump of coal that valuable to you that you can’t even give the miners a day off to mourn their friends?” he asked.

This is the only site that is reporting this story. I've tried to find other sources and so far searches have led to this site.

  6. One of the age-old dilemmas faced by anyone throwing a party is what to do about guests who could provoke awkward and embarrassing conflicts — especially if they've already been invited. In one of her books on proper behavior, Judith Martin, a.k.a. "Miss Manners," wrote that disinviting a guest is a "high insult."

That, in a nutshell, is the quandary for organizers of today's big series of public gatherings, the 600 or so planned Tea Party protests. Tea Party leaders are finding that, as they continue to court success in the political mainstream, they have also been forced to monitor activity on the movement's fringes more closely. Today, a New York Times/CBS poll found that the 18 percent of Americans who say they identify with the movement tend to be older, more affluent, and better educated than average Americans — and have surprisingly high tolerance for universal social programs such as Social Security and Medicare, even if they dislike government spending that more narrowly targets the African-American community and the poor.

But such findings remain muted, compared to a dominant public image of the movement as a haven for extremist rhetoric and fringe conspiracy thinking — a trend that's even received some attention from Fox News, a longtime booster of Tea Party protests.

  8. EXCLUSIVE: BART Police Ordered To Turn In Tasers
    Posted: 2:05 pm PDT April 15, 2010
    Updated: 6:16 pm PDT April 15, 2010

OAKLAND, Calif. -- Following an incident involving a BART police sergeant inappropriately discharging his Taser, transit agency officials have ordered all its officers to hand in the controversial weapons Thursday until further training could be undertaken, KTVU has learned.

Sources told KTVU that officers received orders on Thursday afternoon from the agency’s top brass to turn in their Tasers after interim BART Police Chief Daschel Butler issued a memo with the instructions.

The rank-and-file officers of the BART police department got word of the order Thursday afternoon and could be seen stopping by the headquarters at the Lake Merritt BART station. Officers approached by KTVU said that any questions would have to be answered by commanding officers.

The final straw, apparently, came after an April 1st incident when BART police sergeant who was responding to a call about an alleged assault at the Richmond BART station.

Multiple sources said the sergeant was pursuing a 13-year-old boy who was fleeing the scene on a bicycle and reportedly deployed his Taser at the teen from his moving vehicle.

Sources said -- and the police chief confirmed -- that the shot missed and the youth was uninjured, but that the way the Taser was used was raising numerous questions.
