Who were Glenn Beck's "Black Robed Regiment", the 240 "religious leaders" dressed in black robes during his sickening MLK "take back the civil rights movement" event? If you can find pictures of them and/or their names, please let me know! All Aboard the religious Glenn Beck Mormon crazy train!!! The new most powerful televangelist is now FOX "news" Glenn Beck! What's with the Republicans and Mormons? (see: Mitt Romney). The big news they're not telling you: REAL religious leaders (not Glenn Beck's mysterious "Black Robed Regiment) are getting PISSED at Glenn Beck cloaking himself with GOD for political reasons:
Glenn Beck’s “Black-Robed Regiment”: brought to you by the Mormons and the Church of Latter Day Saints
Beck uses elements of right-wing theocracy and a particular interpretation of Mormonism against mainline Protestantism and social justice thought. Why? Because play-acting as the champion of so-called "Bible-based Christianity" earns him secular political juice. Just like the revolutionaries and the Black-Robed Regiment he so admires, he's discovered that using sectarian division is an efficient way to advance the political football. And that's before we get to anti-Islamic rhetoric.
Beck's 'Apolitical' Black Robe Regiment Will Urge Voter Involvement
Beck doesn't want his church "preach[ing] who to vote for," but his "Black Robe" associates do
Glenn Beck muscling in on the REAL religious leaders' territory:
Beck: "I believe we're approaching a last call: All aboard God's train. Buckle up, because trouble is coming":

Republican Arizona "papers please" governor finally admits she LIED about illegal immigrants beheading people. She uses the new word for LYING: "MISSPOKE". Jan Brewer: "That was an error, if I said that," Brewer told the Associated Press yesterday. "I misspoke".

"Bible-Based Christianity"? There are two problems with that phrase when it comes to Glenn Beck.
ReplyDelete1. Bible-Based. The LDS believe that the King James version of the Bible is the Word of God...in so much as it is interpreted correctly. Note the last part (can you say "escape clause"?). They also believe that the Book of Mormon is an equal document to the Bible when it comes the Word of God. This creates a paradox, as the Bible basically says, in so many words, that there can't be any other Bibles.
2. Christianity. It's my belief that members of the LDS Church aren't really Christians in the traditional sense. The differences are enormous, so much so that your average evangelical Christian has more in common with a practicing Catholic than he/she does with a Mormon.
I'm not knocking the LDS, as your average Mormon is a hell of a lot more pious than I ever will be. However it's really not all that rational to lump members of the LDS Church into the same pot as other Christians.
Everybody Out Of The Pool!

ReplyDeleteFormer British Prime Minister Tony Blair is currently saying that Dick Cheney's vision of policy towards the Middle East after 9/11 was to re-draw the map:
ReplyDeleteVice-President Dick Cheney's vision of completely redrawing the map of the Middle East following the 9/11 attacks is "not stupid," and is "possible over time," former British Prime Minister Tony Blair says.
In his new book, A Journey, the former Labour Party leader wrote that Cheney wanted a wholesale reorganization of the political map of the Middle East after 9/11. The vice president "would have worked through the whole lot, Iraq, Syria, Iran, dealing with all their surrogates in the course of it -- Hezbollah, Hamas, etc," Blair wrote.
What does this mean?
Well, as I have repeatedly pointed out, the "war on terror" in the Middle East has nothing to do with combating terror, and everything to do with remaking that region's geopolitical situation to America's advantage.
For example, as I noted in January::

Sarah Palin – A Modern-Day Medusa?

Well, guess what? My father passed away this morning...AND my wife and on got food poisoning. My wife's in the hospital. Yep yep yep, no kidding. And I'm here deathly sick. How da ya like dem apples? My father was about to get his other leg cut off (diabetes), and I hate to say it, but with all this cutting, it has been non-stop, I think he's better off this way. He was a shadow of himself. His spirit left him a long time ago. And then the food poisoning, what a great thing on the same day! Full tilt cannot keep anything down, fever, throwing up, diarrhea (boy I hate that word!). Sheesh. When it rains it pours.
ReplyDeleteBut I always say this: life is good and bad, and everyone dwells on the bad all the time. It's been this way forever, so don't worry about it. Shit happens. That's it. Don't worry about it.
