I bought a Canon scanner/copier/printer a few months ago for $40. We took the cartridges out to get them refilled, we have a refill place near us where we save a lot of money. The guy said Canon puts a chip in their ink cartridges where they won't work if you get them refilled, you have to buy a new Canon brank ink cartridge. He also said he predicted the ink cartridges would cost more than the $40 printer which CAME with ink cartridges. Lo and behold, we went to a store and the ink cartridges (Canon brand) were $50. So, it would actually be CHEAPER to buy the whole printer again with the cartridges that come in the box. wtf??????????
