Rachel Maddow walks us through all the sex scandals from the "family values" Republicans Class of '94. The latest "family values" Republican caught, Souter, is actually on video tape being interviewed about "abstinence" with his part-time mistress!!! This is a MUST-SEE:

Funny (and sadly TRUE) Republican political ads - it's all BULLSHIT, folks: abortion, gays, guns, GOD, illegal immigrants, terrorists, "family values".........

  8. I saw a lot of the Rand Paul interview by Rachel Maddow. Today Rand Paul said he made a mistake going on her show. Here's what I saw: she was very VERY nice to him (watch it yourself) and asked him, "Should a shop owner be able to discriminate against customers?" The fucker just would not answer the question, which means "YES"...btw... About the 3rd time she asked him, after he danced around it the first two times, he accused her of doing a "gotcha" question and STILL did not answer it. He was coming from the angle that it's private property: IE the shop owner OWNS the shop. He should get to discriminate. He was too CHICKEN to say that answer. And he kept saying something along the lines of, "Now I am not a racist, I wouldn't do that if I had a shop". But, he was for racists doing it.

How about this: when you open up your private property to sell things to the public to make $$$ off the public, it's not technically private property anymore and you should adhere to laws like discrimination laws.

Rand Paul seemed like a real Kentucky HICK to me. He may not be a racist, but his take is that there should not be laws to prevent shopowners (and who else btw? vote registration? transportation?) who are racist from being racist to the public. They have a "constitutional right" to be racists in their OWN shops which they're selling merchandise to the public.

Here's the problem I have with Libertarians: they're just like the "free market" people, everything will magically take care of itself! We will not shop at their shops and they will go out of business. Or god knows WHAT the fuck people like Rand Paul are thinking. And like his father, whom I agree with on a lot of important issues, his father thinks that, untouched, health care will "magically" take care of itself! Rich people will come out of the woodwork and give to charities and you'll get all the MAGICAL health care we all need!

    Yeah, right!!! Bullshit!!!!!!!!!

You know what? THEN WHY ISN'T IT HAPPENING RIGHT NOW, YOU FUCKING IDIOTS????? WHY RIGHT NOW AREN'T RICH PEOPLE OUT OF THE GOODNESS OF THEIR HEARTS TAKING CARE OF PEOPLE WITHOUT HEALTH INSURANCE? WHAT'S STOPPING THEM???

Then when people like Rand Paul are asked a tough, challenging question, like: "Should a shop owner be able to discriminate?", they WHINE like Sarah Palin did when Katey Couric asked her a FUCKING good question that no one in their FUCKING PLASTIC BUBBLE would dare ask them!!!!!!!

  32. Yeah, Rand Paul claimed that Rachael's question was the "Red Herring" in that interview. He tried every politician tactic under the sun to avoid answering her directly, and in my opinion, she gave him WAAAAAAY too much time to dodge and weave.

The actual red herring in the interview was when he continued to bring up the image of gun-toting thugs in restaurants, and the likely shoot-outs that might ensue - rather than simply answer her repeated question.

Rand learned a calm demeanor, pacing, and strategy from his Dad, and handled the interview well, optically. The problem was substance. His beliefs are out of line with America's - and his "mistake" was ever mentioning it in the first place, which he did prior to ever appearing on Rachael's show.

  34. Whoa! Rand Paul Was The Featured Speaker At Theocratic Constitution Party 2009 Rally

In a pinch, all you really need to know about Christian Reconstructionism is in the title of a January 2008 Talk To Action story of mine, More From The Biblical Stoning & Legalized Slavery Movement. Enter Ran Paul.
Amidst the hullaballoo over Republican Ran Paul's upset victory in the Kentucky GOP primary for US Senate, one of the few journalists to raise the issue of Paul's somewhat uncomfortable proximity to Christian Reconstructionism has been Alternet's Adele Stan, who observes that Rand Paul's father Ron Paul is personal friends with one of the bigger names in the Christian Reconstructionist movement, Howard Phillips, founder of the US Taxpayers Party - now re-branded as The Constitution Party. But there's much more direct evidence tying Ran Paul to the Constitution Party, whose national platform declares,

""The goal of the Constitution Party is to restore American jurisprudence to its Biblical foundations...
The U.S. Constitution established a Republic rooted in Biblical law"

As Adele Stan notes, Phillips gave a keynote address at the Ron Paul For President Convention in Minneapolis a year and a half ago. And, Ron Paul endorsed the 2008 Constitution Party's presidential candidate in the 2008 election, Chuck Baldwin.
