Why is it so difficult to find the TASER DEATH COUNT? I could only find it as of 12/16/2008, you'd think you could put up a TASER DEATH COUNT widget on your blog by now, like those Iraqi death count toll widgets. But don't worry: YOUR tax dollars will pay for it when families sue the police for millions when someone gets killed or disabled by a TASER, it doesn't come out of THEIR pockets. They'll just raise your taxes to pay for it. Just wait until the first person dies from being TASED, and it will happen. Will it be YOU? Or your kid? I don't go for the argument: "It's better than the police shooting you". That's the only other option? That's a bullshit argument, it's not even an argument at all. Maybe the police are more likely to TASE you than to use their communication skills. "Well, I have this TASER here, that's easier than reasoning with this person." And as you will see in the montage TASER video below, the police absolutely abuse using the TASER according to their own videos from their police cars!

WILKES-BARRE - Hoping to lessen injuries to police officers and suspects, city police officers have begun carrying Tasers. (but what about injuries to those TAZED???)

Taser zaps California man’s short-term memory: claim
The Tarrant County medical examiner ruled Thursday that the death of a mentally ill man in April who was shocked twice by a Taser stun gun wielded by a Fort Worth (TEXAS AGAIN!) police officer was a homicide.
They should read this like they read the names of the 9/11 victims:
DEATH TOLL 2009: REMEMBERING THE VICTIMS: 1. 1/9/2009: Derrick Jones, 17: Martinsville, Virginia. 2. 1/11/2009: Rudolfo Lepe, 31: Bakersfield, California. 3. 1/22/2009: Roger Redden, 52: Soddy Daisy, Tennessee. (read more...)
Wikipedia: the U.N. are concerned that use of Tasers may amount to torture, and Amnesty International has reported cases where they believe that their use amounted to "cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment which is absolutely prohibited under international law"

I guess this debunks the GOP "folklore" that "even Canadians come over here for health care". It's the opposite! Americans who don't have health care go to Canada! Including Sarah Palin! I told you this was rightwing "folklore"! I have consistently said things like why aren't these people who come here from Canada interviewed anywhere? And is Canada paying for them to come here? If they are, Canada still has a great health care system. If Canada is NOT paying for them to come here, they must be rich to pay in cash! Or the simple answer that explains it all: IT'S RIGHTWING "FOLKLORE" THAT "EVEN CANADIANS COME HERE FOR HEALTH CARE"!!!
PALIN: We used to hustle over the border for health care we received in Canada. And I think now, isn’t that ironic?

Jon Stewart was on a roll last night. Here's two really good ones:
1. Arabian Rights - There are so many people John Oliver wants to thank for the success of the Iraq invasion.
The neo-cons accept their Grammy after Newsweek says George W. Bush was right about the Iraq Wars:

Jason Jones digs deep and finds out there's a DaVinci Code conspiracy behind it, with a cameo from Harvey Keitel, this is great!

Yeah, ooookayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy buddeeeee. Tasers are worse than guns. Get real pal. A taser is like a toy compared to a real gun which actually creates explosion and implodes upon impact. A taser is just like a shock that stuns the person. That is what I hate about you paranoid democrats. Don't do the crime if you can't do the time I always say!
ReplyDeleteAnd furthermore, don't do anything to get the police mad at you and you WON'T get tasered. Simple as that.
ReplyDeleteA new study released by the research and consulting firm Spectrem Group finds that the number of millionaires in the United States increased by double digits the last year. According to Spectrem Group’s data, “families with a net worth of at least $1 million, excluding primary residences, rose to 7.8 million in 2009,” an increase of 16 percent:
ReplyDeleteThe millionaires’ club in the U.S. grew by 16 percent in 2009, following a 27 percent decline in 2008.
Families with a net worth of at least $1 million, excluding primary residences, rose to 7.8 million in 2009, an increase from 6.7 million a year earlier, according to a survey of high- net-worth U.S. households conducted by Spectrem Group.
“With the markets trending upwards, we expected an increase,” George H. Walper Jr., president of Spectrem Group, said in a telephone interview. The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index increased 24 percent in 2009 and has risen 68 percent over the past 12 months
While the number of American multimillionaires rose last year, Americans continued to suffer from the Great Recession. The unemployment rate reached double digits, millions of Americans lost their homes, and wages for most workers stagnated. The United States is unique among industrialized countries in its enormous income inequality. Data from the U.S. Department of Labor shows that if income inequality continues to rise at the current rate, the income gap in the United States “will resemble that of Mexico by year 2043.”

Not if I get my druthers. Tasers are the most effective form of police/crowd control. All these misinformed protesters will get their balls and cunts tasered now if they step out of line. My pappy was a cop and if they had taser back then he would have had a much easier time controlling the protesters who used to gather around the streets of the great Washington DC. A nice taser to the crotch of these cretins will send the right message...men will get their nuts fried....the women will get their lips toasted...a splendid time is guaranteed for all. Our government does these things for a reason...to control the revolting pigs who just can't keep their mouths shut and follow rules. FLOOW RUUULES. That is what you will do, or you'll get the fight tasered out of you.
ReplyDeleteBa chomp ba chomp ba chewy chomp..tazer good...follow baaaa baaaa...fire truck!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I was thinking of getting one and tasing a cop back, if they tase me. Is that legal?

Time for a US Revolution - 15 Reasons
ReplyDeleteIt is time for a revolution. Government does not work for regular people. It appears to work quite well for big corporations, banks, insurance companies, military contractors, lobbyists and for the rich and powerful. But it does not work for people.

I'm watching Jon Stewart interview this guy who wrote some book called "how obama made us less safe" or something like that. He's from the Dick/Liz Cheney camp. Jon Stewart tears him apart with regular logical questions. He's not amazing, it's just that these guys get an unchallenged forum in the "liberal media" who just throw a microphone in front of them and don't challenge them. Jon Stewart is great.
ReplyDeleteThe guy accused Stewart of not letting him talk. You have to see this tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteIE: the guy is really saying: "YOU DIDN'T LET ME SAY WHATEVER I WANT UNCHALLENGED".
I see this tactic all the time when creeps go on Democracy NOW! They "work the refs" by starting out attacking Amy Goodman and accusing her that she will not let them talk BEFORE IT EVEN BEGINS! "Working the refs", they do it when they're NOT on a show that let's them say whatever they want unchallenged. They attack the host, the "work the refs" for themselves and the audience.
They shift the interview from them looking like an ass, to that the host is causing it. It's the same old same old tactic. Stewart actually said he apologizes if he didn't let the guy talk, and the guy talked a lot and made his points. What he DIDN'T like, was the host making ANY points.

There are no constraints left to halt America's slide into a totalitarian capitalism. Electoral politics are a sham. The media have been debased and defanged by corporate owners. The working class has been impoverished and is now being plunged into profound despair. The legal system has been corrupted to serve corporate interests. Popular institutions, from labor unions to political parties, have been destroyed or emasculated by corporate power. And any form of protest, no matter how tepid, is blocked by an internal security apparatus that is starting to rival that of the East German secret police. The mounting anger and hatred, coursing through the bloodstream of the body politic, make violence and counter-violence inevitable. Brace yourself. The American empire is over. And the descent is going to be horrifying.
Those singled out as internal enemies will include people of color, immigrants, gays, intellectuals, feminists, Jews, Muslims, union leaders and those defined as "liberals." They will be condemned as anti-American and blamed for our decline.
