ReplyDeleteThis is a good song. It's the 2nd iteration of Fleetwood Mac with Bob Welch, after Peter Green, the great lead guitarist flipped out and left the band. I'll post some Peter Green with Fleetwood Mac stuff later. Peter Green is one of the greatest guitarists ever. He took too many hit of acid and went mental, more on that later. The 2nd iteration of Fleetwood Mac, they got Bob Welch to replace Peter Green. Then, the 3rd iteration, they got Lyndsay Buckingham and Stevie Nicks to replace Bob Welch. I like the Buckingham/Nicks Fleetwood Mac the LEAST, to light and pop-ish.

Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac. Many blame LSD for the permanent damage to Peter Green's mental health, even Peter Green said "I took one too many LSD trips and that puts me in the 'Care and Attention' category." But the drug let out the doom that was already in there. From what I can gather he still spends much of his time as a recluse, self-isolated and on medication "I'm on some medication-- I don't know what it is-- but it makes it hard to concentrate. I rarely feel like playing." There is a sense of loss experienced by the rock community, loss of the talent that once was. The split in the band happened after Green claimed to have seen an angel holding a starving Biafran child in her arms and he wanted the band to work for charity to help feed the starving. This of course meant that he was mad. Mick Fleetwood flatly refused and John McVie, although he intially agreed, as Fleetwood put it "he soon came to his senses when he realized that the proposition was coming from a guy who'd just been given lots of acid." So in 1970, faced with the band's refusal to give all their money away, Peter Green wrote the 'Green Manalishi' and left. I heard he shaved off all his hair, gave everything he owned away and lived as a tramp for a while whilst he concentrated on his descent into madness.

One of those arrested, Stan Dai, is listed as an Operations Officer at the Department of Defense Irregular Warfare Program and a lecturer on surveillance, explosives training, assassinations and “false flag operations.” He was picked up in a car parked car blocks away with a covert receiver, managing the office bugs. In a “clarification” of how Israel is involved and sees their cooperation in this domestic terror organization as part of their support of the United States as a trusted ally, we received the following story:

Financial firms are on track to pay over $145 billion in bonuses for 2009, according to estimates from The Wall Street Journal. That would be up 18% from 2008 and up 6% from the current record payout of $137.2 billion in 2007.
"That's the shocking number to me, that is really unbelievable," WSJ Wall Street reporter Susanne Craig says of the possibility 2007's record payout could be exceeded.
To be sure, the banks are on track to post a year of record revenue -- $449.6 billion, according to The Journal - but critics say that's thanks largely to the Federal Reserve's easy money policies and other government programs designed to support the banking system after the near collapse and bailouts of 2008.
2009 "was just a great year" for Wall Street, Craig says. "But where the gap is...what they do and what they did caused a systemic risk to our system. We have to balance those two issues because there is a public interest in terms of what they did; the taxpayers had to clean it up. "
President Obama was certainly mindful of that when he used some harsh rhetoric in announcing a new $90 billion "financial crisis responsibility fee" on the industry Thursday. The banks, meanwhile, are responding by making restricted stock a greater portion of bonuses and adding claw-back provisions.
The goal of such changes is to reduce incentives for employees to take short-term risks. In that regard, the changes are welcomed but they mainly amount to "window dressing" and "tinkering around the edges," Craig says. "Whether you're paying in stock or [cash] it's a huge amount of money."

US deploys warships to Iran's southern waters
In addition to imposing new sanctions on the Tehran government, the US has reportedly begun beefing up its military presence and war paraphernalia off the Iranian coast.
US military officials told AP on condition of anonymity that Washington has taken silent steps to increase the capability of land-based Patriot missiles on the territory of some of its Arab allies in the Persian Gulf region.
Patriot missile systems were originally deployed to the Persian Gulf region to target aircrafts and shoot down missiles before they reach their target.
According to the officials, who were expounding on the classified information in a Sunday interview, the US Navy is also upgrading the presence of ships capable of intercepting missiles.
The officials claimed that details are kept secret, because a number of Arab states fear Iran's military capabilities, but at the same time, are cautious about acknowledging their cooperation with the US.
